Ever felt stuck? Like you’re spinning your wheels, working hard, but not getting anywhere? I get it. I’ve been there. Not just “there” as in struggling, but literally there—living in my parents’ basement. Broke, bad credit, no money—it was the whole package. But here’s the thing: that’s not where my story ends. Today, I’m a multi-millionaire, and it wasn’t magic. It was a collection of small, consistent habits that completely transformed my life.
These aren’t some complicated, unattainable secrets. They’re tiny shifts, mindset tweaks, and daily practices that anyone can implement. And that’s what I want to share with you today. Because this is your year to change your life. You don’t have to stay stuck. Let’s dive into these life-changing habits.
Your Tools for Transformation
Before we jump in, I want to share two resources that have been instrumental in my journey and can help you apply these principles to your own life:
- 📖 The Pick A Horse: The Power to Choose You: This book is all about finding your passion and committing to it. It’s about identifying that one “horse” and riding it to the finish line, no matter what. I share the techniques and exercises I personally use to stay focused and driven.
- 📖 The Manifest Journal: This daily journal is designed to keep you aligned with your goals. With structured morning and evening reflections, it helps you stay focused, track your progress, and cultivate the mindset of success.
These books work hand-in-hand. The Pick A Horse helps you make that crucial decision about your path, and The Manifest Journal provides the daily structure to keep you moving forward.

17 Tiny Habits for Massive Change
Don’t Give Up: The Power of Persistence
The biggest obstacle I had to overcome wasn’t a lack of ideas—it was a lack of follow-through. I’d get excited about something new, dive in headfirst, and then, when the going got tough, I’d bail and chase the next shiny object. Sound familiar?
The truth is, the key to success isn’t always about being the smartest or the most talented. It’s about not quitting. As the late, great Nipsey Hussle said, the difference between him and other rappers was that he just didn’t quit. He went through every emotion, every challenge, but he kept going.
I’ve seen this time and time again in my own life and in the lives of the people I mentor. People give up too easily. Someone tells them it won’t work, they hit a roadblock, and they throw in the towel.
The “Just Don’t Stop” Mentality
So, habit number one is simple: Don’t stop. Cut out the noise, ignore the naysayers, and keep pushing forward. Even if you need to take a break, come back to it. Just don’t quit.
People told me I wouldn’t succeed in real estate, that I couldn’t make it on my own, that YouTube was a waste of time. But I didn’t listen. I kept going, and here I am. Remember, other people’s limitations don’t define yours.
Reading: Feed Your Mind
I’m an author, yes, but I’m also an avid reader. And there’s a reason for that: readers are leaders.
Think of your mind as a muscle. Reading is the exercise that strengthens it. When you read, you’re not just absorbing information; you’re also creating images in your mind. This is crucial for success because, in business and in life, you need to be able to turn intangible ideas into tangible realities.
Start Small, Grow Big
The great thing about reading is that it’s a tiny habit with huge potential. Even if you start with just one page a night, or even one paragraph, you’re building a powerful habit that will strengthen your mind and expand your horizons.
Sleep: The Foundation of Success
This might seem counterintuitive, but sleep is essential for success. When I first became an entrepreneur, I was so stressed that I couldn’t sleep. I was constantly working, trying to build my business, and I thought that sacrificing sleep was the key. I was wrong.
You need rest. Your brain needs time to regenerate. Rich people understand this. They prioritize sleep.
Reading for Rest
Ironically, the habit of reading actually helped me sleep better. I incorporated it into my bedtime routine: journal, then read, even if it’s just a page. It helps to quiet the mind, especially after a day of screens and distractions. Aim for at least seven hours of sleep a night. Set a bedtime and a wake-up time, and stick to them.
Exercise: Fuel Your Body, Fuel Your Dreams
Wealth isn’t just about money; it’s about holistic well-being. If you want to be truly wealthy, you need to be healthy in mind, body, and spirit.
Exercise isn’t just about looking good; it’s a tool for achieving your goals. When I was working towards becoming a millionaire, I found that exercising helped me generate ideas, feel energized, and execute on those ideas.
Exercise as a Tool for Success
Whether it’s hitting the treadmill or walking around the neighborhood, make time for exercise. It’s an investment in your success.
Dream Big: Expand Your Vision
To become rich, you have to start thinking bigger. Stop limiting yourself to small goals. Dream like Oprah, like Bill Gates.
The bigger you dream, the more you can achieve. If you aim for $10,000 a month, you might fall short. But if you aim for $100,000, even falling short can lead to significant success.
Journaling Your Dreams
My Manifest Journal is a powerful tool for dreaming big. It helps you set your top goal and focus on it daily, morning and evening. The prompts guide you, and the countdown helps you internalize your progress.
Incubate: Protect Your Growth
Think of a newborn baby in an incubator. It’s a protected environment that fosters growth. You need that kind of environment too.
Incubating means surrounding yourself with positivity, support, and knowledge. It might mean finding a mentor, changing your phone number, moving to a new city, or cutting ties with negative influences.
Create Your Supportive Bubble
This isn’t about being mean or cutting people out forever. It’s about protecting your energy while you’re making big changes. Incubate for a year, or even six months, and you’ll be amazed at the difference it makes.
Pursue Silence: Find Your Inner Voice
Closely related to incubation is the habit of pursuing silence. You need quiet time to think, reflect, and connect with your inner voice.
This is where mentorship and a supportive network are invaluable. They provide a safe space to share your thoughts and ideas without being derailed by negativity.
Guard Your Vision
When you’re pursuing a big goal, not everyone will understand. Sometimes, well-meaning people (like family) can inadvertently discourage you. Pursue silence and protect your vision.
Get Up Early: Own Your Morning
Successful people tend to be early risers. My mentor told me that the average millionaire wakes up between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM. So, I adopted that habit.
It’s not just about waking up early; it’s about having a productive morning routine. This allows you to focus on your priorities before the demands of the day take over.
Design Your Morning Routine
Create a routine that sets you up for success: affirmations, journaling, stretching, planning your day. Be intentional about how you start your day.
Make a Decision: Cultivate Confidence
Wealthy people are decisive. They don’t waver. They trust their judgment.
One of the ways I built wealth was by becoming more decisive. I learned to say yes or no, and to stick with my decisions.
Trust Your Gut
Even if you make the wrong decision, the act of making a decision builds confidence. You learn from your mistakes and get better at it.
Affirm to yourself daily, “I make good decisions, and I believe in my decisions.“
Multiple Streams of Income: Diversify Your Success
Rich people don’t rely on a single income stream. They understand the importance of diversification.
It’s not just about having a lot of cash; it’s about having steady, consistent income. Think rent, royalties, passive income, etc.
However, and this is crucial, you need to focus before you diversify. As my book, Pick A Horse, emphasizes, you can’t ride multiple horses at once.
I focused on real estate investing before adding other income streams like books, teaching, and YouTube. Even within real estate, I focused on wholesaling, then flipping, then rentals.
Qualified Mentors Only: Invest in Guidance
Mentorship is a shortcut to success. Yes, you pay for it, but it saves you time, money, and frustration.
Think of mentorship as a toll road. You pay to skip the traffic, avoid getting lost, and get to your destination faster.
Find the Right Guide
A good mentor provides guidance, answers your specific questions, and helps you avoid costly mistakes. Every wealthy person I know has had mentors.
While you can succeed without a mentor, it’s a much harder and longer road.
Optimism Matters: Choose Positivity
Optimism is a habit. It’s about choosing to see the positive side of things.
This is a simple but powerful habit. When faced with negativity, train yourself to find the positive.
The Power of Reframing
For example, if someone says something is hard, you can think, “If it’s hard, fewer people are doing it, which means more opportunity.”
Think For Yourself: Trust Your Intuition
Stop relying on others to make decisions for you. You are just as capable as anyone else.
Have the confidence to trust your own judgment. Stop seeking constant validation.
You Are Enough
If you’re implementing these habits, you’re already ahead of the curve. Trust yourself.
Change Your Environment: Break Free From Limitations
You may need to physically change your environment to achieve significant success.
This might mean moving to a new city, changing your social circle, or simply going to new places.
Embrace Discomfort
I’ve lived in many different places, and it’s forced me to grow. Stepping outside your comfort zone builds resilience and opens you up to new opportunities.
Reiterate the Value
Remember, The Pick A Horse helps you make those crucial life-changing decisions, while The Manifest Journal provides the daily structure to stay on track. These aren’t just books; they’re tools to help you build the life you deserve.
